#utv back on track!
[Posted by W` on 28 April, 2005]
Ladies and gentlemen, it’s finally done. It took over a year if I am right and the idea itself is even older. So I am proud to announce the #utv page with many new features for you to use. About First of all I’d like to explain why this project was started: As all of you can imagine UTV is always a good thing to have for matches, though it’s not always easy to find a feeder and/or a server. Therefore we founded this little community. We are not the first one though. Sharma, Souvi and Sherry had the same idea a few years ago but the project died after some time. You can still find their website here. Now we opened the channel #utv again as many of you should already know. But we have some new gimmicks for you now:
Just click on Full Story for details.
The #utv bot
If there are any bugs, message W` about it. Maybe we’re going to fix it in 10 years. Servers and Feeders We can now offer many new servers. At the moment we have eight servers, each with plenty of bandwidth. There are also a lot of motivated feeders. Though we need to keep track of who uses the servers and at what time. Therefore we have so called trusted feeders who are also added under Team on our page. Those people have the rights to add matches to the database and they have access to all servers. So if you need a game broadcasted, try to catch on of them in #utv and get him to feed. If you can’t get any of our trusted feeders, then you can still ask for a server. Just ask in #utv and wait until an admin or a trusted feeder responds. Credits and Misc I’m sure I forgot a lot in this first news item, but there is one thing that I shall not forget: thanks to all the people helping me! So thanks to siRk, Rayden, lestat, Dogma, Mendax, lzR and z0 for feeding while the project was still growing. Thanks to Sharma, Souvi and Sherry for founding #utv, a great idea and a good job! Thanks to ironbounca for the basic layout as I’m really lazy to do one myself. Thanks also to LarynX for the TCL scripting support. Thanks to Avlan and mfx for joining #utv and for bringing servers with them. Last but not least thanks to all our feeders! Sorry to all the others I forgot, it's not done on purpose. Now the more boring part: if you’d like to help us by setting up a server or by becoming a trusted feeder, feel free to message any of the admins for more details, we’d be glad to welcome you as a new member. At the moment we’re looking for better support for the iCTF scene. Therefore we’d need somebody with in-dept knowledge and good contacts to players. Thanks for your attention, may there be many interesting broadcasts! »
